The answer keys of Special Class Railway Apprentices(SCRA) exam held on 29 January 2012 by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the post of Mechanical Engineers in Indian Railway can be seen now

The solutions of questions paper Code A can be seen below.Paper was of moderate difficulty and students had a huge opportunity of raising there score in the General Ability Test.

It is expected that a student scoring 50-65% of the maximum marks can clear the cutoff for this year.Though these numbers are just predictions on the basis of previous results.

  Age : Not less than 17 years and must not have attained the age of 21 years on 1st January, 2012. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
• 
  
  Educational Qualification: Must have passes in the first or second division, The intermediate or an equivalent examination (10+2) of a University /Board approved by the Government of India with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
• 
  
  Physical Standards: Candidates should be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice.

SCRA 2011 Exam being conducted on 31 July 2011 by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for selection of candidates for appointment as Special Class Railway Apprentices in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways.The approximate number of vacancies to be filled through the exam is 44. More a handful of seats more than 1.4 Lakh candidates apply which makes the competition even more stiff.

The SCRA 2011 consists of 3 Papers namely:

• General Ability Test
• Physical Science(Physics and Chemistry)
• Mathematics

Each Paper carries a 200 Marks. All questions are MCQ type with four options out of which only one is correct. Candidates should keep in mind that there is negative marking for wrong answers.

As far as the cutoffs are concerned, UPSC never releases
the cutoff marks officially for any of its exam but here are some figures from the last years exam which might help you in deciding what sort of marks might help you in succeeding the exam.

• Highest Scorer (written part):Akhil Jain ,354 marks.(Gen Category).
• Highest Scorer (written part):Tuhin Sekhar ,313 marks.(OBC Category).
• Highest Scorer (written part):Vivek Ranjan Maitrey ,344 marks.(SC Category).
• Lowest Scorer (written part):Nihit Kumar singh (roll:14896),168 marks(General category).

Admit cards of SCRA 2011 being conducted on 31 July 2011 By Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) have been dispatched through Post.


All the Registered candidates will probably receive their admit cards within this week.
